What's new on Next
Welcome to the Next World Wide Web Server! Next
(next.gen.oh.us) is a small group of computers running UNIX-like
operating systems, including this Debian GNU/Linux computer which is
primarily used for software development, research, service hosting
(including these web pages), along with various general daily
computing needs for its users.
The shell computer previously ran FreeBSD, but it was replaced with
GNU/Linux as a part of an effort to have next's machines all run the
same distribution of the GNU operating system.
If you are looking for something else called or containing "Next" or
"Next Gen", you will need to look elsewhere. For example: we are not
a healthcare or education company, and we do nothing with Medicaid or
Medicare in any states.

The experiment of /home/username/ as a tilde-less replacement to
/~username/ has been rolled back to using the userdirs. There is, in
fact, absolutely nothing wrong with having a ~ symbol in your URIs.
Only users with a web site on here before May 7th are affected.
Sadly, that was only one person.

The primary Next server has received some upgrades to its operating
system and storage array. User data has been migrated to the new
system as well. If anything is missing or broken, please notify the
administrator via your @next.gen.oh.us e-mail address.

The original page layout for Next is back. The attempted replacement
felt too devoid of information or anything else useful.
